Chana Dal Chutney / Chutney without Tomato & Onion / Goki’s Kitchen

Ingredients:

1. Oil – 4 tbsp
2. Chana dal – 3 tbsp
3. Small size tamarind
4. Red Chilli – 12
5. Handful of coconut
6. Curry leaves – Few
7. Mustard – 1/4 tsp
8. Cumin – 1/4 tsp
9. Chilli – 2
10. Hing
11. Salt

Let”s start:

Step – 1:
Firstly, in a pan add 2 tbsp of oil and heat, add 3 spoons of chana dal & roast. Do it on low flame till the chana dal turns golden brown and crunchy.

Step – 2:
Add a little tamarind, 12 red chilies, and saute 1 minute (Low flame). Turn off the stove.

Step – 3:
Transfer in a mixer jar and grind without adding water.

Step – 4:
Now, add a small amount of coconut (handful), then salt, and add little water to grind fine paste. Keep aside.

Step – 5:
Heat 2 tbsp oil and few curry leaves, ½ tsp mustard, ½ tsp Cumin seeds, and 2 dried red chilies, Hing. Pour the tempering over the chutney and mix well.

     

Step – 6:
