Tomato kulambu / How To Make Thakkali Kuzhambu For Idli,Dosa,Rice / Goki’s kitchen

Ingredients for making Tomato broth / Kulambu:

1. Oil – 5 spoons
2. Urad dal – 1/2 spoon
3. Mustard – 1/2 spoon
4. Few coriander leaves
5. Few curry leaves
6. Small onion/shallots – 10
7. Tomatoes – 4
8. Red chili powder – 1 spoon
9. Broth Powder / Kulambu powder – 5 spoons
10. The required amount of salt
11. Hing

Let”s start:
Step – 1:

First, add oil – 5 spoons in a pan & Urad dal – 1/2 spoon, Mustard – 1/2 spoon, Few coriander leaves, Few curry leaves
Fry for a minute.

Step – 2:
Small onion/shallot – 10 cook for a min.

Step – 3:
Take 4 tomatoes of this size and mash well by hand and fry till the tomatoes are well cooked.

 

Step – 4:
Red chili powder – 1 spoon, Broth powder / Kulambu powder – 5 spoons (To know how to make kulambu powder click the below link), Salt required amount, add Hing and mix well then add the required amount of water and boil for 15 minutes.

Step – 5:
After 15 minutes when the Tomato Kulambu thickens, turn off the stove.
